PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak urged the youth to take control of their future by voting for the government that had proven its ability to lead the country through progressive changes since its independence.
“The Barisan Nasional government can make tomorrow better than today,” he said.
He said he had faith that the Malaysian youth would employ wisdom and discernment in exercising their rights as provided in the country's democracy.
"We must know how to separate the intan (gem) from the kaca (glass) in deciding who can make our tomorrow better than today.
"For generations, Malaysian youths have chosen a government that has successfully drive our country forward- not just in one general election but 12.
"The youth have given their support and trust to the same government to bring changes to our country," Najib said in addressing youths who had gathered at the Himpunan Jutaan Belia (Millions of Youth Gathering) here on Saturday.
Others who were present at the event included Najib's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Putrajaya MP Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor and other cabinet ministers.
Regarding the gathering, which enters its final lap on Sunday, he congratulated the Youth and Sports Ministry on pulling together the five-day massive event, which has drawn visitors from various states.
Many of the youth donned T-shirts bearing the gathering's name or "I Love PM'.
"My wife will not be jealous by this love that you show because it represents respect and love for the leaders of the country.
"By the reports that have been presented to me and from what I have seen today, the gathering has achieved its target of converging two million youth in Putrajaya.
"Putrajaya has been successfully conquered by the youths," Najib said to enthusiastic cheers from the crowd... - STARONLINE
